Professional Career History
Grew up in Wilmette, Illinois; attended New Trier High School in Winnetka, Illinois; attended Northwestern University for two years; Completed Bachelor's 1967 and Masters in Education 1969 at National College of Education; PhD Colorado State University in Ft Collins 1979
While slowly achieving undergraduate degree, worked at a stable where I assisted in riding summer camps, did accounting, ran horse shows, and arranged classes with schools and other organizations..
Taught elementary learning disability, emotionally disturbed, and socially maladjusted classes in public schools 1967-1974. In-Service Coordinator and Learning Disabilities consultant in Poudre-R-1 schools, Ft. Collins Colorado 1974-76 Graduate assistant 1977-1979 in writing grants, research projects, and teaching occasional classes
Moved to Oshkosh Wisconsin in 1980 to teach at the University of Wisconsin at Oshkosh for 19 years -- currently retired. Full Professor, Department Chair for five years, Chair of Faculty Development Board for several years, Taught classes in Instructional Strategies based on research in effective learning and applied behavior analysis, Assessment and Remediation of Learning Problems, and many other related topics. Teacher Excellence Award in 1987 - given only to a very few professors in entire university each year. Extensive success in grant writing on various topics and as principle investigator; Over 50 presentations at conferences at state, national, and international levels; and Multiple chapters in books and articles in both refereed and non-refereed publications . |

Articles for Retrievers On Line, editors Dennis Voigt and Fiona McKay Articles are on the theory behind training, raising a puppy, and other topics. Regular contributor since Nov-Dec (Vol 6 Issue 6) in 1995 for a total of more than 40 articles.
National Stake reports, narrative and drawings, for Retriever Field Trial News since the 2000 National Amateur Championship in Cheyboygan, Michigan, published in the August 2000 issue of RFTN

Dogs
Competed successfully in obedience and hunt tests with several dogs. Stormy (see her on website link bottom left) who was Chip's Mom competed in both and passed 38 out of 38 in pass/fail competitions.
Ran NFC Rascal to his AFC and several National Amateur Retriever Stakes as well as placed him in Open second and JAMs in Canada. Completed eighth series in Canadian National Open with him. (Rascal was run by Mike Lardy to win the 1996 NFC Title).
Ran CNAFC CFC Chip to Derby placements and Qualifying Stake third before he moved to Canada in Spring 1997. (Chip was run by Dennis Voigt, co-owner, to win the 2000 CNAFC and CFC titles)
Currently do my own young dog training Basics through Transition since retiring from the university
I live on 55 acres of land and ponds especially designed for retriever training and train regularly with other amateurs..
